TWD: Cranberry Lime Galette
This galette/free-form tart was WAY too tart for my liking. My favorite part was the little chunks of apple that burst with sugary sweetness especially in comparison with the cranberries. Next time I will either add WAY more sugar or increase the ration of apples to cranberries and reduce the lime juice.
On the plus side, it was a really pretty, festive-looking pastry. It was one that made you go, "wow" when you saw it. It was elegant in a relaxed, unpretentious way.
Thanks to Whitney, April and Elizabeth of Celestial Confections for selecting this week's TWD recipe found on page 364-365 of Baking: From My Home to Yours.

Looks delicious! Tartness is definitely an individual thing.
Looks yummy! Will really take the tartness into consideration when I make this next time. Thanks for the tip!
I found it too tart also but still loved it. More apples for the next time or all apples.
Yours looks great, like a galette should.
Right... too tart for sure. But I like how there was potential to change up the flavor profile. Yours looks good anyway!
I actually doubled my lime juice! Guess I like things tart... ;) Regardless, yours looks lovely. Sorry it wasn't up to par for you!
I added more apples and fewer cranberries since I knew it would be too tart. I like tart but man, there's a limit!
I loved the tartness, sorry it was not your favorite. :( You will have to find a friend to give it away to! It looks beautiful!!
still looks extra fabulous
I liked the tartness but I was thinking that if I chopped the cranberries a little the sugar might have penetrated deeper making for a sweeter end.
Your does indeed look beautiful and festive!
It looks lovely! Maybe some ice cream would have sweetened it up for you.
I used orange juice and it was just right. Just a hint of orange without the really tart lime.
Pretty galette.
This gallette/tart looks really delicious. I'm sure I'll love the apple chunks bursting in my mouth too :) Thanks for sharing!
Oh my! So delish looking and sounding.
It is absolutely beautiful! I'd probably like it less tart too, but one of my boys would love the tartness of it. I guess it's a matter of opinion.
your tart is beautiful, even if it was too tart for you :)
Yours definitely elicits the "wow!" response! Mine was tart, too.
