The Copycat Club

Introducing: The Copycat Club (First post Oct 7/10).

Grab my badge and join in the fun!

I would like to invite all of you lovely food bloggers to join my group.
The idea for this group was born out of my fascination with copycat recipes - clones of famous restaurant dishes, coffeeshop bakes or even grocery store products or pre-packaged foods. Reasons to make copycat recipes at home: save money, challenge yourself, impress others and just because IT'S FUN!

This group will be doable no matter what your schedule is. Submit as many or as few copycat recipes as you wish, from past or present blogs. They can be from cookbooks, from websites, from other blogs or from your own imagination. I will post a monthly round-up on the 7th of every month (just because 7 is my lucky number). If you want your post to be included in the round-up on the 7th, send me an email to starrysugar@hotmail.com with the subject "Copycat Club: [your recipe name here]" and include a link to your post along with your name and blog name. Please also include a sentence about the Copycat Club or my blog - http://buttercreambarbie.blogspot.com.

I'm hoping this group will bring about more winning clone recipes and help me get to know more bloggers along the way. Here are some recipe sources to get you started:

What a wonderful idea. I will try to get something before tomorrow but certainly can't promise.

What a great idea...I do not think I can make that deadline, but sounds like a reoccurring plan here. I will put the link on facebook...I am sure many of my Foodie Friends would enjoy this :)

This is a great idea! I make a mean "Starbucks" mocha frappuccino that I'd be happy to share.

Do you know or have you seen a copycat recipe of Panera's sugar cookie? It's frosted, usually a cut-out and has a lemon flavor to it. I like the thickness, taste, and how it's not hard but not so soft either...
