TWD: Maple Almond Tuiles
Hindy of Bubie’s Little Baker chose Translucent Maple Tuiles, on page 173 of The Book. Check out her blog for the recipe.I had never made tuiles before in my life but the recipe was really simple and straightforward and approachable with only 4 ingredients! I added a hint of almond extract and sprinkled the tuiles with some sliced almonds before baking. I think they turned out really festive and way better than I expected them to. In other news, there is a new furry addition to our family. His name is Fluffy and he is an 8 week old dwarf bunny rabbit! He is so affectionate and adores sitting on my lap. Especially since I give him lots of veggie scraps from the kitchen. He runs around while I'm at home and he's already almost litter trained. I'm in love. bunny love :)
Lastly, congrats to Sara of Cupcake Muffin - winner of my digital scale/chicken soup for the soup cookbook/spreader giveaway! Thank you everyone for your comments and stories of the foods that give you the warm fuzzies.

Oh my!! I want Fluffy - absolutely adorable!! :) And your tuiles are beautiful, too. Fluffy distracted me for a minute!
I love the texture of your tuiles, very like a fortune cookie. I'm sure the almond flavour was wonderful.
Thanks so much for baking along with me! And congrats on the new fluffy family member.
The tuiles look fabulous. And Fluffy is a doll!
That bunny is absolutely adorable! (Oh yeah, and the cookies look awesome too.)
Great looking cookies and such a cute little bunny!!
fluffy melts my heart...i've wanted a bunny for a long time! your tuiles look great. i used to work in a restaurant where we made almond tuiles that look just like yours.
I hope fluffy will be in future posts! So adorable, love this recipe too!
What a great post to welcome Fluffy! I love the almond variation - you always have such creative ideas!!!
Beautiful cookies, Tia.
I love your almond variation on the cookie but I am having trouble focusing because that is the CUTEST bunny ever! Congrats.
I love almond tuiles, so I know that this version was delicious. And beautiful too! But that bunny--too cute! How do you ever get anything done?
:)
What an adorable bunny!!
Almond flavor. Have to try that.
Those look so interesting. Was the almond the only ingredient different from Dorie? Mazel tov on the new bunny.
Beautiful tuiles! I bet the almond version tastes terrific. And, the bunny is just too cute for words.
OMG how stinking cute is he?!?
Your tuiles look perfect, love the almonds.
Sweet lil bun!
Your tuiles are gorgeous, but that baby bunny steals the post! He is just ADBORABLE. Where do you find a 'dwarf' rabbit? Is that like, a special breed..
Oh cute addition! Love the bunny. And the Tuiles are very pretty.
