The cream cheese baked up into the buns, leaving a hint of orange taste with a slight tang of cream cheese. They had a subtle sweetness, not as powerful and decadent as a cinnamon bun. It was just right for a breakfast treat and so pretty with the flecks of orange throughout.Orange Cream FillingCooks Illustrated8 oz. cream cheese, softened1/4 cup sugar2 tbsp orange zest1 tsp vanilla1 egg2 tbsp flourCombine all ingredients with an electric mixer until smooth. What a great way to use the brioche dough. Now why didn't i think of that.
Thanks for baking with me this week.
We used to have the Pillsbury orange rolls (from the can) as a treat when we were kids so I think your variation sounds so good! I posted raisin snails and sticky buns that I had made previously.
Orange Cream sound like a bite of heaven. I've got to make these. Thanks for sharing a great recipe.
Wait! How did you fill the buns? I love love love anything orange!
These look so decadent and delicious.
If you've been baking a lot with orange, I'm going to check your older posts. Sounds delicious!
Your brioche with the orange cream filling (yum) looks like one in a fancy French bakery. Very nice!
